As part of its Arbor Day programs, staff from the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources will present information about recognizing the Emerald Ash Borer (Agrilus planipennis) and treating trees infested by the beetle.
The Emerald Ash Borer has been found in Dedham and is currently present in eight Massachusetts counties and continues to spread. This exotic pest, native to Asia, has destroyed tens of millions of ash trees in 30 states since its introduction to the United States in the 1990s.
For more information, attend Thursday's presentation and see the Emerald Ash Borer in Massachusetts guide.
