The following is a list of community events that take place every year in Dedham: 

  • James Joyce Ramble: This event features a 10K road race as well as a take-a-walk event and a Children’s Ramble. It is held on the last Sunday in April at the Endicott Estate. Learn more at http://www.ramble.org/.
  • Flag Day Parade: Held on Flag Day each year, June 14th, this annual parade is organized by the Parks and Recreation Department.
  • Dedham Farmer’s Market: Organized by the Dedham Square Circle, the Dedham Farmer’s Market is held on the First Church Green, Dedham Square on Wednesdays, late spring through October. Learn more at http://www.dedhamsquarecircle.org/farmers-market.
  • Arts at Endicott Summer Concert Series: The Dedham Junior Women’s Club offers a series of concerts at the Endicott Estate on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer months. Learn more at http://www.djwc.org/events/summer-concerts/.          
  • Four on the Fourth: An annual road race is held on July 4th of each year to raise money for the Sally Naser Charitable Foundation. Learn more at http://www.dedhamfour.org.        
  •  Dedham Day: Hosted by the Friends of Dedham Recreation each September at John Barnes Memorial Park. The event features a barbecue, games, rides, crafts, shows, music and the annual memorial mega (cow plop). Learn more at www.dedham-ma.gov/DedhamDay
  • Household Hazardous Waste Day: Hosted in partnership by the Health Department and Department of Public Works each year in October. This event provides residents the opportunity to responsibly dispose of numerous household hazardous waste items for free.
  • DEF Dash 5K: An annual event is held in early October at Barnes Memorial Park, organized and hosted by the Dedham Education Foundation (DEF) to support Dedham Public Schools. The money raised at this event directly funds DEF Grants, which provide enrichment programs in the Dedham Public School District. Learn more at https://www.dedhameducationfoundation.org/def-dash-5k.
  • Trunk or Treat: The annual Trunk or Treat event is a free family trick or treating event on Saturday, October 26 (rain date Sun. Oct 27) and is open to all. Each year, children and adults visit Dedham Square for an afternoon of trick or treating and fun. The event spreads throughout all of Dedham Square all the way to the Registry of Deeds.   • DJWC Craft Fair: The Craft Fair is a juried show with over 100 spaces filled by more than 80 artisans with lovely, handcrafted items including jewelry, clothing, crafts, home decor, dried flowers, children’s items, food and more. Learn more at http://www.djwc.org/events/craft-fair/.            
  • Family Gratitude 5K Turkey Trot: This Thanksgiving morning event features a 5K race as well as a 1/2 mile run for children. The event is organized by Ripples of Hope and is held at the Endicott Estate. Learn more at http://www.ripplesofhope.org/
  • Holiday Stroll: Hosted by the Dedham Square Circle, this free event that kicks off the holiday season on the first Friday of December-rain or shine from 5-8pm. Learn more at www.dedhamsquarecircle.org/holidaystroll
