Livable Dedham's 2019 Spring Housing Series is focused on Aging in Community. Please join us on June 4th for our forum on Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs).
Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) are apartments within or attached to owner-occupied homes on a single lot, often called “in-law apartments.” ADUs contain a kitchen, bathroom, sleeping and living space.
In Dedham, 41% of residents are projected to be age 55 or older by 2030.
71% of Dedham’s older adults want to stay in Dedham as they age. We know that of the Dedham residents who want to stay in their homes as they age, 24% would need financial assistance to modify their homes to continue living in them.
Please join us Tuesday, June 4th to learn more about ADUs - how they could work in Dedham, how they are working other communities, and what Dedham can do to help older residents who are interested in staying in their homes but will need to make modifications to do so.
