March programs have been postponed due to health concerns related to COVID-19.
Join us for the rare opportunity—and the first ever at the DHSM—to hear the Amaranti Ensemble perform music from the late 18th and early 19th centuries on a Baroque flute and harpsichord. In addition to early music from England and Spain, a very special offering of music will be performed from the archives of the DHSM, specifically from “A Favourite Selection of Music: Adapted to the Piano Forte.” This book of “Songs, Airs, Marches, etc.” was printed and sold by Herman Mann of Dedham in 1806. Among the published songs and dances are “Address to a Tuft of Violets,” “Cottage in the Grove,” “Drink to me Only, a Favorite Glee,” “Bonny Doon,” and others. Don’t miss this magical performance. Tickets $20. To purchase tickets, call 781.326.1385 or visit https://dedhamhistorical.org/current-events/
