Talk by bestselling author on WWII historical thriller

New York Times bestselling author William Martin will be the first in Dedham Museum & Archive’s spring Speaker Series at the Museum, February 15th, 7:00 p.m.

Martin will discuss his newly published spy thriller December ’41, a thoroughly researched historical fiction. To set the scene: the country is reeling after the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7th. FDR holds fast to his plan to light the national Christmas Tree in a public ceremony slated for Christmas Eve. But a Nazi agent is sticking to another plan: to assassinate Roosevelt, just before lighting the tree. In the story, author William Martin builds tension while surrounding the assassin and his pursuer with a rich panoply of supporting players and backstories. Don’t miss this Speaker Series as Martin discusses his novel.

“Master Storyteller” and Massachusetts native William Martin is the author of twelve novels—including local topics, Cape Cod, Harvard Yard, and Back Bay—a PBS documentary, articles, reviews, and more. He has received three prestigious awards for his writing and serves on the boards of many of Boston’s historical and cultural organizations.

Martin’s talk corresponds with the current museum exhibit, “World War II: A Community Shares Its History,” on view through Memorial Day 2023.

This in-person talk will be held at the museum, 612 High Street. Members free; nonmembers $10. For more details, visit www.dedhamhistorical.org.
