COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Clinic for Residents 65 Years and Older

There will be a COVID-19 booster clinic for Dedham residents 65 years and older on Thursday, November 18th at the American Legion (155 Eastern Ave) from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Registration in advance is required. Please register by phone at: (781) 751-9488 or online at: www.dedham-ma.gov/covidvaccine.

COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic for Children 5-11 Years Old

On Tuesday, November 2nd, the CDC Director approved the FDA’s recommendation to vaccinate children 5-11 years with the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. The recommended vaccine is 1/3 of the dose administered to youths 12 years and older and adults. Children 5-11 years old are now eligible to receive the Pfizer vaccine.

There will be a COVID-19 clinic for Dedham residents 5-11 years old on Saturday, November 20th at the Dedham Middle School (70 Whiting Ave) from 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM. Online registration in advance is required. Please register online at: www.dedham-ma.gov/covidvaccine.

DWWD Tier II Notification Re: TTHM Violation

Following the recent notice from the Dedham-Westwood Water District (DWWD) to all Dedham residents regarding the elevated levels of Total Trihalomethanes (TTHM) in our drinking water system, we as your Board of Health would like to take this opportunity to ensure everyone has been made aware of the violation and to reaffirm this is not an emergency. The DWWD has created an informational website that includes a copy of the Tier 2 Violation Notification mailed to each resident, background information about the situation, and has set up a Hotline and email address for questions or concerns. The Town of Dedham has also circulated this information on the Town website, through email subscriptions lists, and has posted this information on social media accounts to help deliver the information quickly and efficiently.

2. VETERANS DAY IS THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2021

Town Offices Closed In Observance of Veterans Day

All Non-Emergency Town Offices will be closed on Thursday, November 11, 2021 for Veterans Day, including the Dedham Public Library:

Town Offices/Buildings Closed on Veterans Day include:

  • Town Hall
  • Ames Senior Center
  • Public Library (both locations)
  • Dolan Center
  • Public Works

Note: Police Department and Fire Department remain open 24 hours / 7 days a week:

Recycling & Trash:

Thank-A-Veteran Cookout on Veterans Day

The Veterans Services Department invites everyone to attend a cookout at the American Legion (15 Eastern Avenue) on Veterans Day, beginning at 1:00 p.m. This event provides an opportunity for friends and neighbors to stop by, thank a veteran, have some food, and enjoy an afternoon together as a community. The event will run from early afternoon to early evening to allow for people to stop by throughout the day. We hope to see everyone there! *The cookout is free and is open to everyone.

Veterans Day Brunch on Wednesday, November 10th

On Wednesday, November 10th, the Dedham Council on Aging and Veterans Services Office are teaming up to host a breakfast to celebrate our local veterans. Stop by from 10:00 a.m. to Noon to enjoy great conversation, guest speakers, and music at the USS Jacob Jones VFW Post, located at 84 Eastern Avenue in Dedham, MA. Please call the Ames Senior Center today to RSVP to attend at 781-751-9495.

3. GREENLODGE STREET CORRIDOR IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT MEETING

Town of Dedham Invites You to Attend a Virtual Public Information Meeting for the Greenlodge Street Corridor Improvements Project

WHAT: Public Information Meeting via Zoom

WHEN: Wednesday, November 10, 2021, 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

WHY: Come join the Engineering Department and consultants for a presentation and update about the proposed sidewalks along the Greenlodge Street Corridor.

4. FALL ANNUAL TOWN MEETING EVENTS AND UPDATES

Warrant Review Meeting (Mini-Town Meeting)

Town Meeting District Chairs and Representatives are hosting a virtual warrant review meeting, also referred to as "Mini-Town Meeting", tonight at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom. All are welcome to attend and participate in the discussion to understand and ask questions about each article prior to Fall Town Meeting on Monday, November 15, 2021.

Fall Annual Town Meeting

As previously announced, the 2021 Fall Annual Town Meeting will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at the Dedham Health and Athletic Complex (200 Providence Highway, Dedham, MA).

This meeting will be held in-person with live coverage by Dedham TV. There is no hybrid meeting option for this meeting.

5. Public Safety Building Updates

What to expect November 8, 2021 (Monday) through November 12, 2021 (Friday):

  • The project site remains closed to the public.
  • The de-watering system remains in place and operational.
  • During this week, crews will continue the following work onsite:
    • Pour basement mud slabs
    • Install stone and Mirafi fabric (a geotextile fabric used to maintain soil separation) in the basement and underground garage area
    • Install underground electric and overhead automatic transfer switch conduits
    • Masonry work to install the concrete masonry unit (CMU) wall along the north, east, and south
    • Install CMU seismic bracing on the first floor and duct mains on the second floor
  • Crews will continue to install drainage manholes and water quality structures on Bryant Street this week:
    • This work may cause traffic delays within the area. More information and updates will be provided prior to the start of work to help facilitate travel in and around this area.
  • Expect periodic entrance and exit of large trucks at the project site entrance, located at the intersection of Washington Street and Bryant Street. Please expect minor traffic delays at this intersection.
  • No additional traffic impacts or pedestrian impacts are anticipated during this week.
