The Sustainability Advisory Committee advises the Select Board, municipal departments and committees, and residents on strategies for advancing our local commitment to sound environmental practices both today and for our town’s future. These practices help Dedham address the impact of pollution and climate change and include:
- education initiatives,
- environmentally sensitive building and planning,
- renewable energy choices by residential, commercial and municipal properties,
Climate Action & Resiliency Plan
The Sustainable Dedham Climate Action & Resiliency Plan (2020) documents a comprehensive action plan and a continuation of Dedham’s leadership in sustainability and climate planning efforts to date, reducing human impact on the environment and advancing sustainability efforts across town.
Members
The Sustainability Advisory Committee has 9 members who are appointed to 3-year terms. The 9 members consist of 8 at-large positions appointed by the Select Board and 1 Select Board representative. Current members include:

Town boards and committees consist of volunteers who may not be available during business hours. If you need a response during business hours, please contact the Town Manager's Office or Conservation Department.
Meetings
The Sustainability Advisory Committee generally meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Public meeting dates and times are posted at Town Hall and the Dedham Public Library at least 48 hours before each meeting in compliance with the Massachusetts Open Meeting Law. Meeting agendas will also be posted on this website.
